Plastic Bottle Waste

Plastic bottles, whether reusable or single-use, both are problematic. Many chemicals known as additive are added to plastic during its manufacture. Many additives are toxic chemicals, some are carcinogenic, some are endocrine disruptors.

Plastic can be recycled only 2-3 times. Hence, it ultimately ends up as waste. Plastic does not decompose but it disintegrates into microplastics which spread everywhere. Today microplastic is in our food chain, in our food, water and air.

Microplastic is found in our blood, intestinal linings, arteries, placenta and mother’s milk.

It is a good idea to avoid a plastic bottle to the extent possible. Steel and glass bottles are safer options. They do not leach any harmful chemicals. Both Stainless steel and glass are infinitely recyclable.

Explore solutions that reduce plastic bottle use or manage the waste generated so that these bottles reach recycling facilities and are not lost to the environment.
