Designing the Future of Everyday Things is a series about ordinary products reimagined in extraordinary ways. It highlights designs that reduce waste, avoid unnecessary packaging, cut transport emissions, and protect health — not at the end of the pipe, but right from the very beginning.

This series looks at how everyday things can be redesigned to:

  • eliminate single-use plastics and sachets

  • avoid transporting water-heavy products

  • replace MLP packaging with smarter options

  • encourage reuse, refilling and concentration

  • conserve valuable materials like aluminium

  • lighten our footprint without compromising convenience

From powder-to-liquid refills to shampoo bars and more, each story shows how small design shifts can change whole systems of extraction, production, distribution, use, and disposal.

This is a space for:

  • innovators and entrepreneurs

  • policymakers and educators

  • citizens curious about better choices

Because the future is not only about new technology — it is also about redesigning the everyday things we already use.
